Draft for RME's approval. This page describes what the site does today, written by the people who built it. It becomes RME Innovations' privacy policy when RME approves it; until then it is here so nothing is hidden.

Privacy

What happens to what you give us.

rme.solar is run by RME Innovations Inc., Sacramento, California (CSLB #1077450). This page says plainly what the site stores, who processes it, and how to have it removed. Last updated 7 October 2026.

The chat with Riley

Riley is an AI assistant, not a person. What you type to Riley is stored on this site's own database so your quote, survey and account can be shown back to you and so RME's specialist can pick up where the chat left off. The words you write are read by a language model (Google's Gemini, through Google's API) to understand them and to write Riley's replies. Riley is told to use what you write only as facts about you; the prices and sizes you see are computed by this site's own code, not by the model.

If you give a street address, it is looked up through the U.S. Census Bureau's geocoder to find the ZIP, county and electric utility, and an aerial photo of that spot is fetched from the U.S. Geological Survey's public imagery so you can confirm the place. Those services receive the address, nothing else about you.

When you have confirmed your address and given your usage and a mobile number, the site asks RME's design tool, Artemis (sales.artemis.solar), to prepare a real proposal. Artemis receives your name, mobile number, email if given, address and usage, because that is what a proposal is made from. Your proposal page lives on Artemis's site.

Your electric bill

You can send a photo or PDF of your bill, or the usage file your utility lets you download. The file is stored in a private bucket on Cloudflare's storage; it has no public address and can be opened only by RME staff with the front-desk key. A photo or PDF is read once by the language model (Google's Gemini) to pull the usage figures out; the site keeps only those figures: kWh, the billing period, the utility and rate plan, and the amount, never your account number or the text of the bill. A usage download (CSV or ZIP) is read by this site's own code and not sent to the model. Cover your account number before you photograph the bill if you prefer; the reading works the same.

Twelve months of real usage are sent to Artemis for your design when a proposal exists, so the design is sized on your numbers rather than an estimate.

Your account

An account is an email address and a password. The password is stored only as a salted hash. Signing in sets one cookie, which holds nothing but a random session token, and it is sent only to this site. There is no email verification and no password reset yet; call RME to change a password.

Follow-up messages

Follow-up texts and emails to customers are switched off. Nothing is sent to you unless you have ticked a consent box whose exact words are stored, and that box is not shown while sending is off. When sending is on, every message carries a way to stop, and STOP in the chat cancels everything pending. RME's own office may receive an email when you ask for a quote or book a survey, so that a person can follow up; those emails go through Resend under RME's own domain.

How visits are counted

The page sends a small note to this site's own server when it loads, when a button is pressed and when a section comes into view, so RME can see which parts of the page help people and where the chat loses them. This uses a random id kept in your browser's storage, not a cookie, and it is sent to no third party. Your network address is stored only as a salted hash. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the id lasts only for the tab. Automated visitors are recorded but never counted.

Who processes it

The site sets no advertising cookies and loads no advertising or social-media code. Fonts come from Google Fonts.

How long, and how to have it removed

Conversations, accounts and bill files are kept until you ask for them to be removed, or until RME closes the file. To have your conversation, account and any uploaded bill deleted, call RME at (916) 625-6438 (Mon–Fri 9 am – 5 pm) or write to RME Innovations Inc., 3901 Pell Circle, Sacramento, CA. Deleting the conversation at the front desk removes the messages, the account, the bill files and the counting rows tied to it; a proposal already created at Artemis stays on Artemis's side and RME can archive it there.

California residents have the right to know what personal information a business holds about them, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for asking. The same phone number handles those requests. This site does not sell or share personal information.

Questions about this page go to RME at the number above. Riley cannot answer them.
